This site is dedicated to all residents of Covington Township - past, present, and future;

To the early adventurers who came to seek their fortunes and found, instead of gold and riches, only deer-filled virgin forests, and deep snow, and few comforts--yet remained to etch their names in our history;

To the immigrants, whatever their dreams, who came to tame the harsh land and were reminded by its dark fir trees and white birches, by its winter snows and deep blue lakes and sunlit summers, of their native Sweden or Finland;

To the early French settlers who remained to raise their families, and enriched our community.

And to all their decendants --those who stay and those who go--with the hope that even those who leave will carry away some warm memory to cherish, to remind them of home.
